Privacy & Cookies

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

This website uses Matomo (previously Piwik), a web analytics open-source software. Matomo uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address anonymized prior to its storage) will be stored on the server of the service provider in Germany. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser (“Do Not Track” setting), however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can opt-out of the data collection here:

Note: If you cannot see anything between the two horizontal lines, your browser is already actively blocking the tracking script.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Embedded content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

With no one, really. This is a private blog that contains no ads and has no (monetary) interest in your data.
